Plywood

Plywood is sheet material consisting of fine layers of wood veneer glued together. Plywood products are engineered through cross graining sheets of wood, which involves rotating adjoining layers in 90 degree angles to provide the final Plywood product with significant strength. Our plywood cut to size ensures a variety of uses ranging from flooring during construction to musical instruments and speaker boxes. When compared to other wood sheet products, plywood sheets are stronger. Moreover, plywood does not limit its effectiveness or quality. Additionally, the material’s resistance and stability ensure the ease of intricate woodwork. The edges do require the use of veneer or laminate when using plywood.

Plywood Sheet Grading

Plywood sheets are graded to differentiate between materials. The work required on the face of the material determines the grade of the plywood. A description of face grades is as follows:
A grade = face consists of clean looking grain, no patches, knots or filler and is suitable for stain or clear finishing.
B grade = face has some filler but still has a nice clean face, may start to see some small knots in this face.
C grade = face has knots and some surface cracking but has been filled and sanded
D grade = face has open knot holes, open cracks and has not been sanded

Plywood sheets can be hard to cut to size. Allboard services include plywood cut to size in Melbourne. Discuss with a representative of our staff for further information
