Plywood
Plywood faces are graded from A through to D, a description of face grades is as follows:
A grade = face consists of clean looking grain, no patches, knots or filler and is suitable for stain or clear finishing.
B grade = face has some filler but still has a nice clean face, may start to see some small knots in this face.
C grade = face has knots and some surface cracking but has been filled and sanded
D grade = face has open knot holes, open cracks and has not been sanded
