Laminate

We source postformable laminate, liner laminate and compact laminate from all of the major manufacturers as well as the boutique suppliers with some more unusual colours and finishes.

Description

Laminate is a harder wearing high pressure product available in many of the same colours and finishes as melamine but is predominately used in Horizontal surfaces. It comes in a flat sheet approx .8mm thick or it can be pressed to board for a custom made benchtop, worksurface, etc.

So when deciding what is the best option for your requirement consider the following…

Melamine = Doors, end panels, wall linings (Vertical)

Laminate = benchtops, desktops, counters (Horizontal)

While Laminate itself is waterproof, the suitability of this product is determined by the substrate that it is pressed to. If you are completing a project in a wet area such as a kitchen or bathroom, then a MR (Moisture Resistant) substrate is advised.

All HPDL products are manufactured in a similar way, from layers of paper saturated with melamine and bound together with phenolic resins. Only the top layer is the decorative layer.
